Your pathway to university study
Our International Foundation Year is a programme of academic subjects, study skills and English language training designed specifically to provide international students with a pathway to undergraduate degree study at the University of Surrey.
Tutors on International Foundation Year Programmes are experts in their subjects and specialists in university preparation. We will support you every step of the way to ensure you successfully complete the programme and progress to an undergraduate degree.
From day one you will be part of the University. You will study on the University’s campus at the International Study Centre and have access to all facilities. You will also be able to enjoy the activities and events organised by the Students’ Union.

The University is based on a lakeside campus within the beautiful countryside of the Surrey Hills. Students study and live in our green and peaceful surroundings, yet still have easy access to the nearby town, Guildford. The state-of-the-art facilities include the Surrey Sports Park, Ivy Arts Centre and the new Library and Learning Centre, where students can benefit from the latest technology and learning amenities.
The campus is friendly, vibrant and safe, a place where you can make the most of student life. At the Students’ Union and throughout the campus you will find a range of places to eat, relax and socialise with your friends.
