English for Pre-Masters

Postgraduate English preparation

Get the support you need to reach the IELTS requirement for your pathway, with our English for Pre-Masters programme.

Your level of English will determine how much English preparation you will need before beginning your academic programme.

Course length

You can take one or two semesters of English language preparation. If you have IELTS 5.0 (5.0 in all bands) or equivalent, you will need one semester of English for Pre-Masters. If you have IELTS 4.5 (4.5 in all bands) or equivalent, you will need to complete our two-semester English for Pre-Masters programme.

Intake dates

This course has two start dates, depending on when you begin your Pre-Masters Preparation Programme.

One-semester programme: September, before starting your academic programme in January, or June, before starting your academic programme in September

Two-semester programme: June, before starting your academic programme in January


At the end of your English language course you will start your Pre-Masters preparation programme, providing you have achieved the required module grades.

Progression to: Pre-Masters Preparation Programme

Age: students are normally 21 years of age or older on the first day of their academic programme at the International Study Centre.
