International Study Centre scholarship
We offer a partial tuition fee scholarship to support your pathway programme at the University of Surrey International Study Centre.
- Scholarship availability and value may vary by region and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
- To be considered, you must hold an offer to study at the University of Surrey International Study Centre.
- This scholarship is not available to students sponsored by a government, organisation, or company.

Progression scholarships awarded by the university
Students who join an International Foundation Year, International Year One or Pre-Masters Programme can take advantage of progression scholarships. These are available exclusively to students progressing to the University of Surrey from the International Study Centre.
We have a wide range of scholarships available. Scholarships are based on achievements from the criteria listed below.*
These scholarships will be awarded and discounted for your first-year undergraduate or postgraduate fees when you progress to the University of Surrey.
Progression scholarship eligibility
A range of criteria will be considered in the awarding of scholarships, including*:
- Academic results
- Attendance record
- Significant progression and effort
- Contribution to classes and to a positive student life
- Completion of the Employability and Professional Skills Development programme
- Other relevant activities.
To progress to your chosen university degree, you must achieve the required academic and English language grades. Check the progression degree list and grades on the relevant programme page.

Scholarship support
The International Study Centre Progression Support team will assist with your scholarship applications by teaching you how to write a personal statement and offering mock interviews.

Terms and conditions
Progression scholarships are awarded by a committee before progression to the university and are only applicable to international fee-paying students joining the University of Surrey. The committee will make a final decision based on numerous factors, though students must be in the top 50% of academic performers in their pathway intake. The committee’s decision is final and entirely at their discretion.
The scholarships are only available to self-funded full international fee-paying students and will be withdrawn if these criteria are not met. The amount of progression scholarships available for progression is split between the International Study Centre intakes. The number and value of scholarships available for each intake is published at the time of application for each intake, please contact the International Study Centre office for full information.
