How to study in England

England has always been a popular choice for international students. Its rich culture, multicultural population, and global reputation for higher education make it an obvious choice.

Why study in England?

Globally recognised degrees

England is home to some of the oldest and most famous universities in the world. Its higher education institutions have a worldwide reputation for their excellent standards of teaching. This means that wherever you choose to apply for jobs, employers will be impressed if you have a degree from an English university.

Multicultural population

England has one of the most culturally and ethnically diverse populations in the world and is proud of its inclusive history. Although people from all over the world make their homes in England, English is spoken everywhere, so it’s the best place to come if you want to practise your language skills.

Tuition fees lower than in the U.S.

Tuition fees are much more affordable in England than they are in the U.S. and you will still receive the same high standard of education. This means you can save your money for making the most of your time in England, travelling and having fun with friends.

Lots to explore

Explore beautiful scenery in the English countryside at weekends, or visit one of its beaches. Famous English cities like London and Liverpool are known around the world for their cultural contributions and buzzing atmospheres. Plus, it’s quick and easy to travel to the rest of the UK and Europe – and there are great transport links with the rest of the world too.

Stay in the UK for work experience

The post-study work visa gives you the chance to stay and work in the UK for up to two years once you graduate. The University of Surrey's placement service can help connect you with employers, and some students even receive conditional job offers after they graduate, with the employers they took their placement with.

Entry requirements to study in England for international students

There are certain grades and conditions you will need to meet if you want to study in England, including English language requirements.
