New students joining the International Foundation Year and Pre-Masters programme will have the opportunity to apply for one of over 50 scholarship places when they progress to study at the University.*
Students starting their International Foundation Year or Pre-Masters programmes in September 2019 and February 2020 can apply for a scholarship for their degree programme, saving up to £10,000 on their first-year tuition fees.
Students can take advantage of one of 52 different progression scholarships, which are available exclusively to students progressing to an undergraduate degree from the International Study Centre in September 2020. There are also six additional scholarships worth £2,000 available to students studying the Pre-Masters Programme and progressing to a postgraduate programme in 2020.

In recognition of their value to us and the success they have when joining the University, we are delighted to be offering these scholarships exclusively to students progressing from the International Study Centre.”
International Study Centre student Tala from Bahrain was awarded with a 2019 progression scholarship to study Biomedical Science BSc (Hons). Tala explained that her time at the International Study Centre has helped her achieve her dream of studying Biomedical Science, saying “My journey in the ISC has been amazing. I can't elaborate enough on how supportive the staff are, the teachers are brilliant. I really appreciate them and for all the help and guidance they have given me.”

- Students studying an International Foundation Year in Business, Economics, Law and Social Sciences are eligible for one of eighteen scholarships of up to £5,000
- Students studying an International Foundation Year in Engineering and Physical Sciences are eligible for one twenty-three scholarships of up to £10,000
- Students studying an International Foundation Year in Life Sciences are eligible for one of eleven scholarships of up to £5,000
- Students studying any of the Pre-Masters pathways are eligible for one of two £2,000 scholarships, that’s 6 in total across the 3 pathways
Scholarship amounts available vary in number and value depending on the study pathway. All scholarships are subject to achieving required grades in the pathway programme studied.
Progression scholarships are awarded by a committee before progression to the university and are only applicable to international fee-paying students joining the University of Surrey. The committee will make a final decision based on numerous factors, though students must be in the top 50% of academic performers in their pathway intake. The committee’s decision is final and entirely at their discretion.
The scholarships are only available to self-funded full international fee-paying students, and will be withdrawn if these criteria are not met. The amount of progression scholarships available for September 2020 progression is split between the September 2019 and February 2020 International Study Centre intakes.
